This position is in Energizer Battery Company's Lithium Technology Department. The incumbent will be assigned to battery design development projects aimed at implementing new or improved battery products to extend Energizer's global product lines and maintain Energizer's technological leadership in the battery industry. The work involves applying electrochemistry and engineering principles to battery design concepts that can be produced efficiently in production. Will conduct product and process experiments to establish specifications for use within Energizer's production facilities. Will effectively utilize a working knowledge of Design of Experiments and statistical analysis techniques. Will work in a team environment comprised of multiple disciplines. Effective written and oral communication to peers and management is expected. Will supervise one or more non-exempt colleagues. Travel requirements are estimated at a 20% level
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a closely related technical field. Minimum of 0-3 years experience in product or process engineering; . Ability to lead a team of peers to accomplish assigned project goals. Experience in new product development and/or a production process background would be beneficial. Candidates must be authorized to work full time in U.S. for other than practical training.
PREFERRED: 3-5 yrs of experience in product development preferred. Statistics, Design of Experiments fundamentals, computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Powerpoint; Familiarity with LEAN 6 sigma, SPC, Project Management/Team Leadership and Microsoft Project is highly desirable.
