Security Technologies Sector
From its market-leading electronic and biometric access control systems to

Lead Systems Engineer
Will act as the technical lead for New Product Development projects.
Coordinating the cross functional execution and adhering to the T/P review
process and Phase Gate Process. Required to take a leading role in converting
the MRD document to measurable requirements. Support business case development,
marketing studies and lead the initial execution team through scoping initial
concepts that require all relevant cross functional team members. Support the
PMO in preparation for program and Phase Exit Reviews, maintain all required
documentation for the design record book, prepare review material for the T/P
review and own the development of the execution time line supported by the
cross-functional teams. Responsible for maintaining a strong link between PMO,
product management, marketing and sales to drive critical ctq''s down to the
design and process levels for improved security products with high customer
value. Provide major functional development and individual technical growth
within the New Product Engineering organization both NA and Globally. Maintain
and update the Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Score cards and prepare the top level
for PMO /Phase exit reviews.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Design Leader - Project leader for cross-functions

  • Define design requirements and specifications (linked to marketing
    requirements)

  • Develop concepts, analyze designs, design components and systems

  • Assure designs meet requirements (cost, performance, quality, reliability,
    DFSS, etc.)

  • Prepare total system reliability allocation

  • Assure adherence to T/P process

  • Prepare and execute Technical reviews

  • Plan evaluation testing, obtain prototypes for testing, conduct
    performance and reliability tests

  • Execute FMEAs, tolerance stackups, stress analyses, dynamic analyses, etc.

  • Contribute to DFSS scorecards

  • Review and release drawings

  • Cross functional team meetings (schedule, facilitate, and ensure follow-up
    on action items)

  • Facilitate operating manual and service manual updates

  • Provide technical assistance where needed

  • Identify and release drawings


Knowledge & Work Experience:

  • Demonstrated Senior Engineer level proficiency with electronic, mechanical
    and electro-mechanical design and analysis

  • Strong engineering Project Management skills

  • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams

  • Tools and uses of such as Design for Six Sigma, FMEA’s, Spice

  • Test Planning and Evaluation

  • Manufacturing processes and analysis, statistical tolerance analysis is
    desired.

  • Background in electro-mechanical consumer products and related designs.

  • Demonstrated technical coaching and mentoring skills.


Education & Minimum Years of Experience:

  • BS or MS Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 7+ Years mechanical or electronic design consumer product design
    experience.


Additional Skills (Computer/Technical):

  • Spice modeling or related proficiency required, PCD proficiency desired


Percentage of Travel: 10%
Min. Yrs. Experience: 7+
Education Standard: Bachelors
