Product Area: Vacuum Technologies
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a seasoned ME to design and develop scroll pumps and
related components and systems. You will determine system requirements,
perform engineering analysis and design, verify results through prototype
testing, problem solve, document all results, and provide engineering
support after production release. Throughout, you will use modern design
methods (FMEA, QFD, Six-Sigma tools) and traditional methods to ensure
successful technical results. Use of project management and cross-functional
teamwork skills are essential.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- BSME
- 9+ years of work experience in an engineering product design role (for
mass production)
- High degree of competence in Solidworks or similar 3-D programs,
including PDM extensions
- Experience in thermal/stress analysis using COSMOS or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the following: mechanical
design, material properties and selection, geometric dimensioning and
tolerancing, tolerance analysis, manufacturing processes (casting, forging,
machining, forming, assembly, finishing, testing, etc.)
- Ability to do hands-on work in lab and shop, as well as ability to
direct others. Excellent communication skills are required.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas highly desirable:
project management, vacuum technology, experience with
pumps/compressors/other positive displacement machines,
electrical/electromechanical experience, metallurgical analysis, failure
analysis
